DIPLOMA OF OUTDOOR RECREATION

QUALIFICATIONS

The Diploma of Outdoor Recreation is recognised as the most relevant qualification sought by potential employers. This qualification shows employers that you are a well rounded outdoor facilitator with good group management skills and a sound base of activity skills.

Within the Diploma of Outdoor Recreations are clusters of competencies recognised by Industry as sub qualifications in specific activity and skills groups.

We have constructed our course curriculum in consultation with Australian Adventure Standards and the peak recreation bodies.

On completion of your Diploma of Outdoor Recreation you will receive the following qualifications as specified by the Australian Activity Standards



Bushwalking Guide – Easy (Easy & Tracked) (AAS)
Flat Water Canoe Guide (AAS)
Sea Kayaking – Sea Skills Award or Sea kayaking Guide (Moderate Conditions) (AAS)
Archery Instructor (AAS)
Rafting Guide (Grade 3 Rapids) (AAS)
Sailing Instructor (Dinghy) (AAS)
Single Pitch Climbing Guide (Restricted) (AAS)
Single Pitch Abseil Guide (AAS)
Snorkelling Guide (AAS)
Challenge Ropes (Low /high) (AAS)
Snow Board Instructor (AAS)

In addition you will gain competency in 2 out of the 3 following specialisations

Youth Work (AAS)
Bushwalking Guide-Intermediate (Difficult & Trackless) (AAS)
Mountain Biking Instructor (AAS)

Chisholm Outdoor Recreation also delivers these qualifications in line with the relevant peak bodies.

National Power Boat Certificate (Yachting Australia)
Level 2 1st aid or Wilderness 1st aid (4 day) (Wild Aid)
Community Surf Bronze (Lifesaving Victoria)
Swift Water Rescue (Rescue 3 International)
