Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Chisholm Institute is committed to providing recognition of prior learning pathway for students who already have skills and industry experience.
The RPL process may be used to gain activity specific qualifications or to obtain a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation.

Typically, the process involves an initial interview to ascertain current skills and knowledge levels, identify any gaps and design a RPL program that adequately addresses the students needs and circumstances.

It is the student’s responsibility to gather the required evidence to prove competency. A RPL manual will be supplied to students for this purpose.

This may include:

  • Covering letter from current or former employers.
  • Log Books
  • Industry qualifications.
  • Third party testimonies.
  • Demonstration of skills and knowledge.

The process may involve a combination of training and RPL and is individually tailored on a needs basis.

Fee Structure:

For students who do not possess a Diploma or higher qualification the RPL process is free. Any training required will attract additional fees.

For all other students please contact us for more information.
