Where to live

I'm looking for some ideas on where would be the best place to live in Australia for an "outdoors" lifestyle. I've lived in Brissy for the last few years and I'm in north qld now but will have a lot of options over the next couple years. Things would be easier in a capitol city but I could make a regional centre work as well. I'm originally from Canada so I'm looking south to find something resembling winter and mountains. My primary interests are climbing, skiing and kayaking. Melbourne is topping my list for now although I keep wondering about Sydney.

Posts: 79 canberra Gender:	Re: Where to live Reply #1 - Apr 11^th, 2010 at 8:41pm What about canberra. good climbing at Booroomba, paddling on the bidgee and close to the snowies, Only 2 hrs to the snow and 2 hrs to the beach what more can you ask for. oops for got that the bidgee only flows about twice a year during the drought.
