http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=-37.952607,145.230546%20%28Stud%20Road,%20Dand...

Anyone checked this out? It was running on Friday Arvo which is about 6 hrs after it last rained in the area.
I only checked it out from the road, but it looked ok....

I personally have never looked too much at it, but a mate of mine has looked at it at a few different levels and said he never saw anything good to play on. There does look like there would be potential there though.

its probably worth checking out everything from eastlink down on the dandy creek. I've always wondered about what might be down along that creek as everytime it rains it's pumping.

Also the spillway at carrum watersports cenre if we get BIG rains makes a 4 foot wave maybe even bigger.

theres a great looking wave not far up from carrum watersports, you can get to it along dandenong creek bike path- theres a huge weir death hole when its cranking but if you follow the bike path theres a really nice looking hole, when its dry there is a concrete wier there that creates this feature, unfortunately theres a bit of rio poking out of it Sad

always be worth checking these sites when they are dry. haven't you seen the adds. storm water can be very dangerous including untreated sewarage, toxic waste, debris, rottingt animals and i think the add says there is something else as well. so most of all watch out for something else!

I have checked out the creek/storm water waterway meantioned above. It is a fast, flat/long wave which is good for sitting there for a photo. Not really retentive as such. Down stream has some deathly strainers, and coke bottles.

The Dandy Ck/Carrum/Bangholm playwave is a deathly hydraulic stopper with any water going over it. I will get there tomorrow and take a pic for you all.

That water course does have potential if modifications are made, but.... if you like paddling in water that is next to the eastern water treatment plant (Bigger than werribee- and 100000 times worse than gardiners)... It would be kinda ok

You'll find this one better to review it

www.nearmap.com

It's better than googlemaps for looking at this sort of stuff in metro areas. No good in rural

They have timeline shots every 3 to 6 months which is helpful.

Have fun with the floating logs Wink
