Huw Kingston gives true definition to the notion of ‘high achiever’: he’s an entrepreneur, environmentalist (gaining notoriety for his Bundy on Tap initiative to eradicate the use of plastic bottles in his home town of Bundanoon), cycling event organiser (the Highland Fling), business consultant, tour guide, writer, and above all, an adventurer.

He has spent over 30 years journeying by human-powered means in wild places across the world.

Between Anzac Day 2014 and the Anzac Day Centenary in 2015, Huw Kingston circumnavigated the Mediterranean Sea by sea kayak, ocean rowboat, bike and on foot, starting and finishing in Gallipoli, raising money for Save the Children.

His 14,000 km journey traversed across and along 17 countries in Europe and North Africa.

Huw has a bottomless fund of stories to tell from his extraordinary journey; from the summit of Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain, during his 3 month long trek across the European Alps - to bouncing around in winter storms in a row boat, hundreds of kilometres from land.

An animated speaker, Huw Kingston’s national speaking tour will include heart-warming tales of endless kindnesses, multiple generosities and a whole load of coincidences along the way.

The Huw Kingston Mediterranean Odyssey National Speaking tour dates:

Huw’s new book, “Mediterranean – A year around a charmed and troubled sea” published by Whittles, will be available in November 2016.
