ABOUT HIGHER GROUND
We facilitate outdoor experiential programs from Kenilworth Homestead for school groups from Australia and overseas, anywhere from 3 days to 6 weeks. We’re facilitators first. We set young people a real challenge and help them see what they’re capable of. Those moments of discovery are what we build every program around.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The best programs appear seamless. That’s because someone planned them, set them up, ran them, and looked after everyone in them. That someone is the Program Manager.
The Program Manager ensures every Higher Ground program at Kenilworth Homestead is delivered safely on time and to a high standard, so that each client has an excellent experience. You own a program from start to finish: the planning and logistics beforehand, the delivery on the ground, and the close-out afterwards. When something doesn’t go to plan, you are the first-person people turn to, and you take charge of the response from the moment it happens. You report to the Head of Client Experience, with support from the whole operations team.
You’ll report to the Head of Client Experience, with weekly check-ins, and work closely with the wider operations team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Program delivery: Day-to-day running of programs, relationship development with clients, ensuring programs are delivered safely and on schedule.
- Planning and preparation: Own all pre-program planning, including logistic planning, briefings and equipment signed off before the client arrives.
- Issue resolution: Be the first to respond when an operational issue arises on a program. Resolve it quickly, escalate when it needs a decision from above, and document everything.
- Post-program close-out: Complete post-program documentation, evaluations and incident reports within defined timeframes.
- Grow into staffing: Over time, take on sourcing, confirming and rostering program staff, with support from the Head of Client Experience.
- Safety and compliance: You hold the duty of care for everyone on the program, participants, and staff. You make sure ratios and SOPs are met on every program, with no exceptions.
ABOUT YOU
You think things through before a program starts, not halfway through it. You stay calm when it gets busy, you know what’s yours to decide, and you hold high standards without being rigid.
