Apex Camps is excited to announced we are currently offering a number of casual positions within both our Sunshine Coast & Magnetic Island Campuses.  

Apex Camps have been running school and group camps since 1983. With two unique, purpose-built camps located on the Sunshine Coast and Magnetic Island, they provide an extensive range of Outdoor Recreation Activities and programs specifically tailored to the needs of each group.  

This position is located at either our Sunshine Coast or Magnetic Island campus and involves effectively leading groups in Apex Camps outdoor recreation activities and meeting their desired outcome, whilst ensuring adherence to Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedure.

Scope & General Purpose of Position:
  • Provide camp activities following organised programming.
  • Maintaining good customer relations, meeting the desired outcomes and objectives.
  • Provide facilitation in a timely manner, meeting programme timelines. 
  • Form part of the professional team by providing high quality level of service and enjoyment to our groups.
  • Ensure duties are operating within current work, health and safety standards as per operations manual.
Main Duties
  1. Setup and inspection of activity meeting operation and safety standards
  2. Reporting on time to meet and greet group.
  3. Motivate group for activity while maintaining good team morale.
  4. Brief group on activity, safety and expectations.
  5. Safely operate manual vehicle and trailers
  6. Undertake the completion of required activity reports (Statements / Logs)
  7. Ensure qualifications are up to date to perform activities.
  8. Assist with the management of activity equipment
  9. Undertake additional camp tasks as required.
  10. Attend meetings / training updates as an when required
Operational Standards
  1. Report for duty punctually wearing uniform.
  2. Maintain current Blue Card (Child Suitability Employment) and first aid / CPR certificate. 
  3. Provide courteous, professional service to external and internal clients at all times, whilst being proactive about the camp.
  4. Possess a knowledge and understanding of and adhere to all of Apex Camps operational policies, including Fire & Emergency, Hygiene, Health and Safety
  5. Maintain activity areas and surrounds professionally.
  6. Good level of fitness and well being is required to perform duties.
  7. Perform other reasonable duties as designated by your supervisor.
  8. Manual driver’s license required. Undertaking Activity Instructor duties (to an agreed minimum level each week).
The successful applicant will have:
  • Experience in working with children (preferred)
  • Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation or Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Leadership. (preferred)
  • Must hold (be able to obtain) a current Blue Card.
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Continuous improvement approach.
  • Manual Driver’s License – LR or above preferred.

This position will be based at either our Sunshine Coast or Magnetic Island campus.
