Lake Nillahcootie Camp nestles between the Mount Strathbogie State Forest and Mount Samaria State Park. The camp has a shoreline frontage and is entered directly from the Midland Highway.

Just 15 minutes from Mansfield and 25 minutes from Benalla, Lake Nillahcootie Camp is an easy two hour drive from eastern Melbourne. The Camp has been in operation for the past 25 years and is situated in one of the prettiest spots in the High Country.

Close to the ski fields in the winter on the banks of picturesque (full of redfin) Lake Nillahcootie, from which the Camp in named after. In addition to the camp facilities, commercial activity providers are available for hire in the area for sailing, skiing, horse riding and mountain biking.

Lake Nillahcootie Camp can accommodate 94 campers. The camp grounds cover 6 hectares (14 acres) and include open spaces, bushland and sandy, shaded shoreline.

Howmans Gap Alpine Centre is happily situated on the Bogong High Plains, about 4km below Falls Creek resort, surrounded by tall ash bushland and approximately 5 hours drive from Melbourne.

The camp is home to numerous wildlife as well as stunning alpine views, snow and hiking trails. The camp provides a base for exploring the local area and Falls Creek Village. Situated above the snowline in winter, Howmans Gap is the only YMCA Camp to offer snow and ski programs in winter and is a great place for groups to discover the Alpine region.
