Born in 2018, Black Diamond Adventures remains a relatively young Outdoor Education company. We design and deliver a variety of experiential learning programs (typically journey based) with student growth being the focus of everything we do.

The Black Diamond team is small, however we are committed, loyal and hard working! Unlike many other operators in this space, we refuse to scramble for dozens of random casual & freelance staff. Moving forward, we are building a permanent team that will be widely regarded as the best in the industry.

Whilst Black Diamond Adventures offer a range of traditional outdoor ed activities, what makes us special is how they are delivered. Black Diamond staff are experts at connecting and building positive relationships with the people in our care. No matter the activity, program or location, we always get the best out of the students.

About this rare & unique opportunity

This position is an opportunity for a young and exceptional outdoor educator looking to transition into a leadership role with greater responsibility. You will start off with a small amount of management tasks and responsibility, reporting directly to the current Black Diamond Adventures Program Coordinator. As you learn and become more experienced your responsibilities and management tasks will increase.

The Junior Program Coordinator position is considered to be a middle management role with a range of development and training opportunities that provide a pathway to upper outdoor ed management positions.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Effectively communicating and building positive relationships with new and established clients
  • Collaborating on program design, planning and staff professional development
  • Coordinating and managing programs
  • Handling sensitive program and client documents
  • Leading small teams and focus projects
  • Maintaining safety of staff and students
  • Undertaking a variety of field roles
  • Assisting with risk management and compliance
  • Bringing your strengths as well as new ideas to the business
To be successful at Black Diamond Adventures you will need:

  • the ability to deliver activities safely and apply risk management controls and respond effectively to first aid situations
Before applying for the Junior Program Coordinator Position you must have or be able to obtain:
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • First Aid Qualification (current)
  • CPR Qualification
  • Drivers license (current and manual)
  • COVID Vaccination status
  • Attained Cert IV, higher or equivalent in Outdoor Leadership/Recreation
  • A minimum of 12 months industry experience as an employed Cert IV (preferably delivering journey based programs for schools in the greater Sydney region)

  4. What programs, projects or procedures do you think you could bring to, or are passionate about improving at Black Diamond Adventures
  5. What are your strengths, what you would like to improve and what are your future career aspirations
