Senior Program Coordinator

Terms of Employment: Full time preferred however other types of employment may be considered, i.e part-time, fixed-term, etc.

Salary: $75k - $85k package + superannuation

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role requires an outdoor educator capable of managing Outdoor Education Programs throughout all phases of a Programs’ ‘lifecycle’; client engagement, program design, planning and administration, resourcing, in-field coordination, review and rebooking. 

Program Coordinators require a strong worth ethic, attention to detail and a passion to deliver high quality work. They are proactive and positive communicators who have the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, maintaining a solution focused approach. 

The role works closely with the Client & Outdoor Education Service Delivery Team, People and Administration Team, and the Finance and Resources Team. Program Coordinators report directly to the Client & Outdoor Education Service Delivery Team. The successful candidate has the ability to work from the Land’s Edge Offices at Berry Depot or Chowder Bay.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the development and delivery of Outdoor Education Programs, as well as, other LEF products and services.
  • Ensure Programs are designed and delivered to meet specific client needs, delivering a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Provide direction, leadership and supervision to a team of program delivery staff to ensure programs meet or exceed LEF quality and safety expectations.
  • Perform appropriate risk assessment of programs and program activities to manage risks in accordance with LEF Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Contribute to business development through cultivating and managing relationships with school clients and other stakeholders to secure new business and promote LEF products and services.
  • Ensure that all activities undertaken are in accordance with LEF’s Safety Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Coordinate communication of client booking requirements to internal LEF departments, including safety, catering, resourcing and administration.
  • Manage and Monitor financial performance to meet business priorities within established budget targets. 
  • Provide instruction, facilitation and leadership in recreational activities and outdoor pursuits to meet agreed outcomes.
  • Provides mentoring and leadership to core and casual Land’s Edge Foundation Program Delivery staff, including Trainees, Group Leaders, Activity Specialists and program support staff.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Extensive and proven knowledge in Outdoor Education
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills 
  • High level of workflow and time management skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills - ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff to achieve organisational and client objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver outdoor education programs - balancing organisational requirements with the desired client and program outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outdoor education programs that are safe, meaningful and enjoyable
  • Demonstrated ability to work within set budgets and targets
  • Demonstrated experience leading groups in a variety of environments
  • Strong understanding of, and adherence to safety management and Standard Operating procedures
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage complex logistical challenges and problem solve
  • Willingness to work away from home for a number of weeks throughout the year in various locations across NSW
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5 years experience coordinating groups 
  • Certificate IV, Diploma in Outdoor Recreation and/or Relevant industry knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications 
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) Clearance
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Wilderness First Aid preferred)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferred but not essential)
  • Current Class C Drivers licence (manual preferred but not essential)
