Winter School Assistant Chef

  • Unique opportunity at Redlands' Winter School program
  • Part Time (20 hours per week, Term 3 contract (June - September))
  • Jindabyne location

The Redlands Winter School program is a unique 10 week residential program for Years 7-10 which involves a combination of academics, snowsports and community living. Based in Jindabyne at our High Country Campus for Term 3, this program is an excellent opportunity to work with a great team in a unique co-ed environment.

Reporting to the Winter School Chef, this is an opportunity for a passionate Chef/Cook to join our Winter School Team at our High Country Campus (HCC) in Jindabyne. The incumbent will have a passion for cooking, good communication skills, be able to relate to young people and have a proven track record in a commercial cooking environment.

General duties include:
  • Maintain the health of students and families at High Country Campus
  • Menu planning and stock control
  • Liaise with the Head of Winter School as to the requirements for HCC catering
  • Provide quality, healthy food options for guests of HCC/management and supervision of the kitchen area/maintain kitchen cleanliness
  • Responsible for being fully up to date with food allergies and their triggers
  • Responsible for catering for specific dietary needs of guests of HCC
  • Working with teaching staff to manage students’ daily responsibilities in and around the kitchen

The successful candidate will hold a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and a valid NSW Working With Children Check. The ability to work flexible hours and trade qualifications in cookery or commercial cooking will be highly regarded.
